I Broke My Streak On MyFitnessPal
This post isn’t actually on my editorial calendar for the month (don’t hold me to it, but this may be a 3 post week)! I’m writing because a few days ago, I accidentally broke my 290-day streak of logging meals on MyFitnessPal. Initially, I was disappointed to come so close to the year mark- I even had a post in mind for when I crossed the 360 day threshold. In the time that’s transpired since, I’ve wrestled with whether or not I was going to address it, if it was even that big of a deal, and almost without meaning to, here I am. I want to write this post…

What I’m Thankful For
Happy almost turkey day, everyone! I follow this mindfulness guru named Jack Kornfield, and subscribe to his semi-regular newsletter. I have to confess that I don’t always read them, but being that it’s a holiday week, the title caught my eye: Gratitude and Abundance. Now, it’s strange, but my mind instantly envisioned a cornucopia, or “horn of plenty”. For those of you who may not know, a cornucopia is an object shaped like a goat’s horn, usually overflowing with the bounty of a harvest: fruits, nuts, etc. It’s a symbol of abundance and good fortune, and is commonly seen today as that weird-looking wicker centerpiece at many Thanksgivings, like the one…

10 Stress Relief Tips For The Workaholic
Hi, it’s me, the queen of stress. ha, ha. If you caught the fake in that laugh, you’re prob right, because I tell you now, today I am stressed. I’ve caught myself going down this rabbit hole for a few weeks now, and I’ve kind of been lax to stop it. Usually, I am really good about practicing consistent self-care throughout the work week, but over the past 2-3 weeks, I’ve felt like I don’t have an “off” button. The holidays are right around the corner, which means that it’s a very busy time for marketers. The account I work on currently is ramping up, and I, in turn, am…

Celebrating World Mental Health Day!
Hey, everyone. It feels really good to be back on a regular posting schedule again. Do you know what else feels good? Living in a society where open discourse on mental health is emerging as a widely accepted- and encouraged- way of life. Seriously. It feels unbelievably good to open up my laptop, log on to the internet (which is a place historically fraught with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows) and find a growing community of boss babes and men in touch with their freaking feelings, talking openly and honestly about their struggles and their journey, and supporting one another. I’ve said in the past that I…

Fitting Self Care Into A Full-Time Schedule
Listen- “full-time job” is a term I kind of hate, because it implies that your time is full of work, when in fact your life has so many other facets and dimensions to it. You know what is a full-time job? Taking care of yourself. Most of us are kind of underemployed in that department, but it’s true. Practicing self care is a form of wellness that, while it shouldn’t take up every waking moment, should be something we practice in a measured fashion every day, no matter how hectic our 9-5. Regardless of your working schedule, you can try some of the tips below to make self care work…

Overcoming Imposter Syndrome
I don’t remember the first time I felt inferior to someone, I only know that it started when I was really little, and it’s something I continue to struggle with to this day. I couldn’t put words to it until a few years ago, when I first heard about “imposter syndrome.” Also known as fraud syndrome, it’s commonly classified as a feeling of being consistently inadequate, even after a series of successes, which ultimately leads to a damaging cycle of self doubt that has the potential to prevent someone not only from taking advantage of valuable opportunities in life, but on a base level, from ever having an accurate picture…
